Graduation

I'm so grateful that my parents really stressed the importance of an education while I was growing up. After long hours in the library, expensive books, and a few frustrating moments, I earned my degree. That's right, last Friday I graduated from BYU-Idaho with an Accounting degree! Lucky for me, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf was the guest speaker at the ceremony. I didn't get much of a break because the very next Monday I started working.

Jake is a Pilot

Flying airplanes is something Jake has always wanted to do since he was young. Well a couple weeks ago Jake took and passed the private pilot flight test! He makes a great pilot because he's determined to do everything perfect. I'm not sure what it is about airplanes, but when he's in the captain seat his face lights up. The first time I flew with him, I fell asleep in the back seat. My favorite flight with him thus far has just been the two of us zipping up to Teton Valley to see our old stomping grounds from the air. The Driggs airport is really nice, especially at night. It's good to have this step over, but I know there's much more to come. If all goes well, then our plans are for Jake to make his hobby of flying airplanes a career.

This is Jake with his flight instructor, Tom Kohler.

Here's one of the planes he flies in, a Cessna 172.

Just making sure everything looks good before we buzz around.

Officially a Blogger

I have a little extra time on my hands now that school is over, so I though I might try this blog thing out. I've been looking at everyone else's thinking to myself, "Oh, that's so cute! I wish Jake and I had one." Now I don't have an excuse (It just might take me a week or two to figure out all the tricks to making it look good.)
